Strollers AGM Notes 28th January 2012

With 17 members present and apologies from Messrs. Newell & Osgood, the minutes of the Meeting are as follows -

 

1.  Captain Gould reported on the Tours, Away Days and Competitions with awards

     to -

               Peter Butler Trophy - Ray Spiers.

               Autumn Salver - Tim Allen.

               Stroller of the Year - Simon Murphy.

 

2.  Treasurer Johnson presented the Accounts for 2011, showing a £33.96 surplus with reserves of £1016.38.
     It was agreed to maintain the annual sub at £10 and the match-day fee at £2.
     The committee will agree a donation to the Club Captain's Charity - £100 last year.

 

3.  The following Officers were elected for 2012 -

                Captain - Rob Kania.

                Vice - Anders Harvey.

                Treasurer - Richard Johnson.

                Secretary - Eddie Wilson.

      with our Committee consisting of the above, plus Messrs. Gould, Dwyer and Spiers.

 

4.   Strollers Events for 2012 were agreed as follows -

                 Tour 1 - to Spain on 21/24th May (inclusive)

                 Tour 2 - to Devon in August ?

                 Awayday 1 - to Monmouth on 27th April.

                 Awayday 2 - tbd in October?

                 Captain's Day & BBQ - on 4th August.

                 Christmas Match & Dinner - on 15th December.

 

5.   A.O.B - It was assumed that Messrs. Everest & Cadogan had resigned from the Strollers.

                - It was agreed that potential new members will play with the Strollers and then be invited to join if appropriate.

                - The members requested clarification concerning safety of young children on the course.

                - Committee to meet on 31st March?

Handicap Ruling – as agreed at AGM held at NDGC 13th January 2006

 

Strollers Handicap will track a player’s official club handicap throughout the year.

 

Each qualifying Saturday (i.e. over eight strollers compete) the winner’s handicap will be cut accordingly.

 

Handicaps of 15 and above will receive a two shot reduction to their handicap.

 

Handicaps of 14 and below will receive a one shot reduction to their handicap.

 

Should a player’s official club handicap change (either up or down) then the player’s Stroller Handicap will track the change minus any cuts the player has received for winning.

 

Examples

 

Stroller playing off club handicap of 20, wins one Saturday – Strollers Handicap is n0w 18 (two shot reduction) If the stroller’s club handicap is then reduced to 19, the player’s Strollers handicap will also reduce by 1 (19 minus 2) to 17. Alternatively, if the player’s club handicap were to increase then similarly the Strollers handicap will also increase (21 minus 2) to 19

 

 

Another Stroller playing off club handicap of 14, wins one Saturday – Strollers handicap is now 13 (one shot reduction)

Same Stroller’s club handicap drifts out to 15 -  the reduction for winning now becomes 2 (as club handicap is over 15) so the player’s Stroller Handicap will remain at 13 (15 minus 2).
